Working 9 to 5, not a way to make a living!

“Lori had worked in the health care profession for the same company for thirteen years – Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm. I worked in the evenings from 5pm to 11pm, Monday to Friday and this was great as we have two young children so we could share the childcare and had no childcare costs.

Last year, the owners of the company Lori worked for sold up and it was not possible for Lori to continue working the hours she previously worked. Suddenly we found ourselves in a position where Lori was working shifts and this caused problems with looking after the children as it didn’t suit the hours I worked.

Due to Lori being the main wage earner, I had to find a job which would still fit round being able to look after the children, as childcare was too expensive. So, I took a job in a call centre on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. But this meant my wages dropped by £400 a month. We just couldn’t afford to lose £400 a month with the financial commitments we had.

We collected orders for £1574 and earned £462.76 in the first three weeks with Kleeneze, which was well above our initial expectations and we’re confident, even from the short experience that we have had, that this can only increase. How clean is your house?

This is the fascinating series on Channel 4 which gives us a voyeuristic look into people’s homes. This amusing programme shows the two presenters visiting the homes of people who have a rather relaxed attitude to cleanliness! They help them to get their homes looking ship shape whilst offering all kinds of cleaning tips and advice.

And Kleeneze are raising their profile by launching a sponsorship campaign with How Clean Is Your House? from Thursday 17 May. This will take the Kleeneze name to over 1.5 million viewers every week for 12 weeks - a brilliant way of reaching so many potential customers!

Spring Sparkle

Last week saw the launch of Cabouchon’s new Spring/Summer 2007 Collection; a real gem of a catalogue and great news Kleeneze customers. The eight-page booklet features new ranges which have been specially introduced for the new season, as well as additions to some of the most popular existing lines.

On page 2 of the collection you will find a brand new range – Rose Blush. In delicate pinks, it offers feminine, fairytale appeal for the spring, and will complement lighter-coloured outfits for both day and evening wear. Your customers can choose from eight different items (including pendant, necklace, bracelet, two different brooches and three different sets of earrings) or opt for the entire set – an ideal gift.

New items have also been added to A Touch of Class and Bohemian Fusion – two of Cabouchon’s best-selling lines. The former now includes a stud pendant, circular pendant and a set of earrings, while the latter now offers two new sets of earrings. Both ranges were extended because of their fresh colours and spring appeal. 

A twelve-page brochure is due to follow later on in the summer with the intention of updating the collection in line with the latest seasonal fashion trends..

Super Kit Trial Extended

“We joined this fantastic business in November 2004. We both had good jobs (Warehouse Manager and Accountant) but were looking for something different that would free us from the ‘9-5’ rat race of working for somebody else; we wanted freedom!

We replied to an advertisement and received our info pack. We were so interested in the details that we asked for more information and received a free video which explained the

In our first four week period we earned £428 and moved up the Sales Plan two places.

We started to work steadily on our retailing and building our team by sponsoring others and teaching them to do the same - anyone can be successful in this business just by following a proven system. Alyson is still working as an Accountant but now only four days per week and I sacked my boss at the beginning of 2006 to concentrate on our business full time!

After retailing well and finding some excellent people to share the business with, we have just hit Gold Distributor level in Period 3. This was a major goal of ours and to have achieved it is a brilliant feeling. We are now looking forward to a prosperous future and working our way further up the Sales Plan.�

Kleeneze To Close Bristol Factory

January 7th, 2007

Kleeneze is to close its headquarters in Warmley, Bristol with the loss of up to 312 jobs and re-locate to Accrington, Lancashire. The announcement follows a comprehensive review of operations after its purchase by Findel plc.

Kleeneze said it anticipates “a significant number of positions will be created at the new location”. Current staff will be offered relocation.

Kleeneze sells household cleaning products by catalogue.

£20m turnover

Findel set about a review of the distributor network, head office functions, warehousing and distribution to consider how best to operate and expand the business.

The result has been to show that greater integration with Findel’s existing facilities at Accrington will lead to enhanced customer service.

It is anticipated that the move of the head office functions will take place by the summer of 2007 with the warehouse move yet to be confirmed but will either be by the summer of 2007 or the spring of 2008.

The firm has gone from a turnover of less than £20m to approximately £100m within the past eight years.
